Strengthen Our Circle

Your generosity helps us carry forward the songs, teachings, and responsibilities entrusted to us by the Ponca people. In giving, you help us uphold the duties of the Hethuska; serving the people, protecting our ways, and ensuring that the circle remains unbroken.

Why Your Support Matters

In many Native communities, including the Ponca, generosity is one of the highest expressions of leadership. A person who gives freely strengthens the whole circle. This teaching is at the heart of the Hethuska, where members were known for serving others and carrying responsibilities that supported the people.

Your support continues that tradition. It is more than a donation. It is an act of generosity that helps us carry forward the songs and teachings entrusted to us. We honor your gift by:

  • preserve and pass on traditional songs and dances
  • host our annual ceremonial weekend
  • support families and elders in times of need
  • provide cultural education to the broader community
  • strengthen the circle for future generations

Every gift, large or small, helps keep these traditions alive.

A Message from the Headman

“On behalf of the Northeast Hethuska Society, thank you for supporting our work. The songs and teachings we carry are not ours alone. They belong to the Ponca people and to the generations who kept them alive through strength, patience, and care.”

“Your generosity helps us honor that responsibility. It supports our families, strengthens our gatherings, and ensures that our young people have a place to learn and grow. We are grateful for the trust you place in us and for the strength you bring to our circle.”

“Thank you for standing with us and helping this tradition continue in a good way.”

Red Hook Home Fund

Each year, our Society gathers at Spring Lake Hill Farm in Upper Red Hook, New York. This historic property, cared for by the Thetford family, is the home that hosts our annual Hethuska Ceremonial Weekend.

This land has welcomed our people for generations. It is where we sing, dance, honor our veterans, share meals, and strengthen the bonds that hold our community together.

The Red Hook Home Fund supports the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the property. Your contribution helps with repairs, grounds preparation, and seasonal needs that arise throughout the year.

Our goal for this season is 2500 dollars. Your support helps ensure that Spring Lake Hill Farm remains a safe, welcoming, and well-cared-for home for our gatherings.
